My cousin who was 21 years old was hit by a drunk driver. But before that moment when he died, he had a life that was full of hope. Creating this slide show for my family allowed me to know my cousin in a different way. For the first time I was witnessing private moments with his daughter. I was looking at photos that his mother captured thoughout his whole life. I was seeing him from a new perspective. My family is huge, so many didn’t know Isaac. I knew him well when he was a little boy, but growing up everyone lost touch. This last year, my family really reached out to him. We were now having BBQ’s together, playing pool. It’s amazing how when tragedy hits a family, when REAL LIFE HAPPENS, its the simple moments in life that really matter and that we remember.
Family is so important, spend time with them, love them, learn from them. Even the members everyone else seems to have cast off. Life is indeed short.
I may never be known around the world for my work, but creating this video for Isaac’s mom, allowing her to see her son at any time, for me…that is an honor. Here is his life. Its 10 minutes long, created for the service.
The last video clip alone, breaks my heart.
